HKERA-APERA
International Conference 2021

9-11 December 2021

The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Virtual Conference

Preamble

The HKERA-APERA International Conference is an important occasion for educational researchers and practitioners in the Asia Pacific and beyond. Through the online platform, this Conference will facilitate a borderless, stimulating and vibrant international meeting. It provides the opportunity for researchers, scholars, early career colleagues, educators, policymakers, practitioners, and research students to:

  • network with both like-minded and non-like-minded friends and colleagues

  • build a community of researchers and practitioners

  • support young scholars and research students for professional and academic development

  • connect with potential collaborators, publishers or funders

  • broaden research horizons and discover new opportunities

  • sharpen intellectual sensitivity and deepen professional commitment

As suggested by this year's theme, our virtual platform provides ample opportunities for engaging dialogues and exchanges on some of the current and pressing issues in education, including (but not restricted to): inclusive and equitable education, digital divide, wellbeing, gender and policy, early years to post-secondary education, value, civic and life education, and the roles of school leaders and teachers in the post-pandemic educational landscape.

This year, we are very honoured to have invited five leading global voices in education as our keynote speakers at the Conference

Prof. A. Lin Goodwin

Prof. Ruth Hayhoe

Prof. Wing-on Lee

Prof. Maria Manzon

Prof. Simon Marginson

(in alphabetical order).
