本研究透過內地56名小學高年級及初中學生的訪談,探視其數學觀和數學問題解決策略。其中運用了假設性情境和開放題。將高、低問題解決者作出對比,我們更得出了兩者品質上的差別。

Abstract

Fifty-six senior primary and junior secondary students in the Chinese Mainland took part in the present study. Their conception of mathematics and their approaches to mathematical problems were investigated in which hypothetical situations and open-ended problems were used. By contrasting high with low problem-solvers, the qualities of the two were also compared.

小學科學學習:建構學習及統整經驗的課程設計建議

摘要

本文就著建構理論的學習觀點及統整學習經驗的方向,建議一個促進小學科學學習的課程設計。另外也特別就著以下多個範疇進行討論及分析:學生的已有科學概念;學生的心理及智力發展的順序編排;與學前科學教育的銜接;學生的整體學習經驗;基本及正確的科學概念;科學概念、技能、態度及意識的並重;和有效及持續的科學學習評估。本文提供一些具科學學習特色的參考資料來支援小學常識科的課程設計,以期最終能讓學生學會與學習相關的科學概念、態度和技能。

Abstract

The article is based on an understanding of constructivist learning and an integration of learning experiences, and makes suggestions for the development of the science curriculum at the primary level. The article discusses and analyzes the following issues: pupils’ previous science understanding, their psychological and intellectual development, the interface with the pre-primary curriculum, pupils’ integration of learning experiences, fundamental and scientific conceptions, the importance of science concept, skill, attitude and consciousness and authentic assessment of science learning. References are made to the above issues on science learning to support the development of General Studies in the primary curriculum to enhance pupils’ learning of related science concepts, attitude and skills.

A Descriptive Study of Teachers’ Value Orientations in Physical Education

Abstract

The purpose of this research was twofold. The first objective was to provide a description of the value orientation of Hong Kong physical education teachers. Secondly, the research would provide an analysis of value orientation from a sample of these teachers. Specifically, this study examined the impact of gender, experience and school level on teachers' value orientations. The revised Value Orientation Inventory (Ennis and Chen, 1993) was used to collect data from 160 physical educators who were teaching either in primary or secondary schools in Hong Kong. Descriptive statistics were computed for each of five value orientations. A one-way analysis of variance tests was used to make comparisons between the scores of gender, experience and school level. The analysis of the data indicated that for male teachers, disciplinary mastery orientation was given a significantly higher priority than their female counterparts. On the other hand, both female teachers and primary school teachers placed considerably more emphasis on social responsibility. Based on teaching experience of the participants, no significant difference was found between the categories.

摘要

本研究旨在探討及分析體育教師之教育價值取向,研究對象為本地一百六十位在職中、小學體育教師。教育價值取向共分五大範疇:包括(一)運動技術主導,(二)學習過程主導,(三)自我確認主導,(四)社會責任主導,及(五)全方位主導。研究結果顯示,本地男體育教師比女教師著重以運動技術為主導;女教師及小學教師則偏向強調以合作性為主的社會責任主導;不同教學年資的教師在五個取向中並沒有顯著差異。
